Navigating the gap
You may never hear the words “I’m sorry” from the person that hurt you. But maybe hearing it from me is the push you need to start your healing process.
There are times when I can’t let the dreaded overwhelm get the best of me. Important life tasks need to be completed. If I ever want to see my vision for my life come to fruition, I can’t be chained to my emotions.
Every opportunity and ‘win’ you’ve had so far is a jumping off platform for your next big win. The more you keep daring to roll the dice, the further ahead you’ll progress along the board.
Sooner or later, we have to put our foot down and just do the damn thing. We have to make a decision to leave behind the things that hold us back and push forward.
When we’re in the thick of the journey, the finish line can feel non-existent. All we can see are the roadblocks we have yet to overcome, the challenges of today, and the chasm that exists in between where we are now and where we hope to be.
I think we should always pass on the wisdom that’s been bestowed onto us. So here are some of the words I want to pass onto you, sweet reader.
Playing by other people’s rules may push you forward in the short term. But doing things for yourself because it truly brings you joy? Now that’s the golden ticket, babe.
Fear’s main mission is to keep you small. To keep you believing that you’d never amount to much, so you probably shouldn’t try at all. Fear doesn’t want you putting yourself in situations where you’d be more exposed.
Here’s the kicker: you get to choose who influences your life. You choose whose voice you listen to and whose opinions carry the most weight.
I’m a huge believer that we need to be our own cheerleader, but sometimes we just need to hear someone else say that we’re still a strong contender in the game of life.
I promise to validate the heck out of your emotions on every other post, but today I’m just going to give you the reminders you didn’t even know you needed.
Instead of wondering why we aren’t there yet, we have to appreciate the valley we’re in and trust it’s preparing us for the next level.
Fear does not get to win. Fear does not get to smother your dreams to death. Sometimes the only way to get over it is to just do the damn thing.
No matter how your New Year’s turned out, and no matter what you’re feeling on this 2nd day, I hope 2019 is a year of rebuilding what you’ve lost.
It might not be today or tomorrow, but someone, somewhere, is going to need your heart, your actions and your presence to show up for them.
Time gets wasted when we worry about who’s ahead of us. Time gets wasted when we are constantly turning our heads to see who our competition is or analysing all the ways why they have what we want.
But girl, can I tell you something? You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are worthy of being heard. You are allowed to assert your needs. You are allowed to say no.
